Why it matters

Most accessibility problems hide where shoppers buy.

A blind shopper can’t tell what your “Add to cart” button does. A customer who can’t use a mouse gets stuck in your menu. Someone with low vision can’t read your price. Each of those is a lost sale, and in the US it can also lead to a legal demand letter.

Website accessibility lawsuits rose again in 2025, and online stores were the most common target: nearly 70% of cases, according to UsableNet’s lawsuit research.

Features

Everything you need to stop guessing

A free scan to start. Real fixes in your code when you’re ready.

  • 01 Know exactly where you stand

Your free scan checks the pages that matter most (home, collection, product and cart) against WCAG 2.2 AA. You get a score out of 100, every issue explained in plain English, and a screenshot of the most important problem, outlined in red.

    • Score and grade (Good / Needs work / At risk / High risk)
    • Issues ranked by how badly they block shoppers
    • Full PDF report in your inbox
  • 02 Real fixes in your code, done for you

We don’t add a widget. We fix the actual problems in your theme: labels, alt text, contrast, keyboard navigation, focus order. We work on a copy of your theme, so your live store is never at risk. Nothing goes live until you approve it.

    • Manual testing with a keyboard and real screen readers (NVDA and VoiceOver)
    • Fixed price, no hourly billing
    • Before-and-after score, and we keep fixing until your automated score is 90+
  • 03 Stay accessible as your store changes

New apps, products and theme updates can break accessibility again. Monitoring re-scans your store every week, emails you a monthly report, and we fix small regressions for you. You also get an accessibility statement to publish on your store.

    • Weekly re-scans and a monthly score report
    • Up to 1 hour of fixes a month for regressions
    • Proof you can point to: your score history and statement

Real code fixes

A widget sits on top. We fix what’s underneath.

Overlay widgets add a toolbar but can’t change your store’s code. We fix the theme itself, test it with a keyboard and a screen reader, and show you the before and after.

  • Every control reachable with a keyboard
  • Readable text and clear focus outlines
  • Fixes live in your theme, so they’re yours to keep
Before: score 62Product page

Screen reader says: “Button”. A blind shopper can’t tell it adds to cart.

After: score 96Product page

Screen reader says: “Add to cart, button”. Shoppers know exactly what it does.

See it in action

Watch a store scan in 30 seconds

Video with no sound. A scan checks four pages of a demo store, then the results page shows a score of 23 out of 100 and scrolls through each issue in plain English, with who it affects and how to fix it.

How it works

From free scan to a store everyone can use

  1. Step 1: Scan

Paste your URL. We check four pages where sales happen and score your store out of 100.

  2. Step 2: Report

Every issue in plain English: who it affects, where it is, and how hard it is to fix.

  3. Step 3: Fix

We fix the issues in your theme code, test by hand, and show you the before and after.

  4. Step 4: Protect

Weekly re-scans and a monthly report catch new problems when themes and apps change.

Widgets vs real fixes

Why we don’t sell widgets

Accessibility widgets (overlays) add a toolbar on top of your store. They don’t change the code underneath, so the problems are still there for screen readers and keyboard users. Stores using widgets still get sued. In 2025, the FTC ordered one major widget company to pay $1 million over misleading claims.

Who’s behind AccessAisle

Built by a developer, not a widget company

“Hi, I’m Bilal. I’m a full-stack developer who has spent years building and speeding up Shopify and WordPress stores, including a high-traffic Shopify store with over a million customers. I started AccessAisle because store owners kept getting sold widgets that don’t fix anything. I fix the code myself, explain everything in plain English, and you can book a call with me directly.”

FAQ

Questions, answered

Something else on your mind? Email hello@accessaisle.com.

I already use an accessibility widget. Am I covered?

Widgets add a toolbar but can’t change your store’s code, so the problems underneath remain, and stores with widgets still get sued. Run the free scan to see what your widget isn’t fixing.

Can you guarantee I won’t get sued?

No one honestly can. What we do is fix your store’s code to WCAG 2.2 AA, test it by hand, and give you a report and an accessibility statement documenting the work. That’s a strong, documented good-faith position. This isn’t legal advice; if you’ve received a demand letter, talk to a lawyer.

Will you break my store?

No. We work on a duplicate of your theme. You preview every change, and nothing goes live until you approve it.

Isn’t my Shopify theme already accessible?

Themes like Dawn start in good shape, but apps, custom sections, product images and content usually add problems. Your free scan shows exactly what’s there today.

How much of my time does this take?

About 10 minutes: a short call and giving us collaborator access. We handle the rest and send you updates.

Why should I trust you?

Our own site scores 100 with zero violations. You’ll talk to the developer who does the work, you see everything before it goes live, and Fix & Protect is paid 50% upfront and 50% on delivery.

Is the scan really free? What happens to my email?

Yes, completely free with no signup. We use your email to send your report. Tips are opt-in, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Do you work with WooCommerce and apps?

Yes: Shopify (Dawn and popular premium themes) and WooCommerce/WordPress. Fix & Protect fixes app problems through your theme where possible; Complete includes app widget fixes.
